Choosing
Unique and Fun Baby Shower Decorations
When
thinking of how you can decorate for a baby shower, you can of
course go online and type in "baby shower decorations" and then
spend the next hundred hours or so browsing through all the sites
that come back to you. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this;
after all, decorating is probably one of the most enjoyable parts
of planning a baby shower! But if you're looking for something
that's fun and unique when it comes to baby shower decorations,
what are some things you can use and where can you find your
inspiration? The answers to those questions may surprise
you!
If you have
kids of your own, you may already have your inspiration for baby
shower decorations. What can you find in your little girl's room?
What about dolls, teddy bears, and dress-up clothes? If the
expectant mother is going to have a girl, you can decorate your
entire venue like a little girl's room. Drape the mom's chair with
a boa and plastic tiara. Or, scatter dolls and teddy bears
throughout the room and along the buffet table. You can do the same
for baby shower decorations for little boys. Think of what's in the
boy's room - army figures, fire trucks, helicopters, and the like.
Scatter these same types of toys throughout the room and use the
larger ones as centerpieces.
Look around
your child's playroom or even your garage for more inspiration. Are
there children's beach toys in a corner? Have a beach theme and use
these toys for the baby shower decorations and centerpieces. Fill
large flat trays with sand and scatter the toys inside this; spread
seashells along the edges. What about a little red wagon? Use this
as a theme for colors - strong red with white and black for trim is
a perfect theme for boys. You can then use this wagon and others as
part of the baby shower decorations. Small plastic ones can be used
for centerpieces and a larger one (thoroughly cleaned out of
course) can be used for the gifts.
Usually
anything that celebrates babies in general can be used as baby
shower decorations. Think of using stuffed animals that are
kittens, puppies, baby seals and so on.
And don't
think that you only need decorations that are specifically made for
baby showers. You can string lights around
artificial trees and use potted plants as centerpieces. This way
too you're not just saving money but are using items that aren't
going to be just thrown away. Anything can be used for baby shower
decorations that are simply fun and festive - fresh flowers for a
spring theme or snowflakes for a shower in the winter. You can even
pick something that can be your theme and you work around that,
such as hearts or teddy bears. You don't need to have everything
match, but choose baby shower decorations that just revolve around
that theme in some way such as different colors and sizes for the
hearts or different types of bears.
