Make Your List
Before Hitting the Home Security
Store!
There's
probably not a person alive that doesn't have some type of
weakness, some hobby or "thing" that they really love and can be
just absorbed in. Some women can shoe shop for hours or love
miniatures and doll houses, some men can lose themselves in hot rod
magazines for hours or spend an entire afternoon just browsing the
home improvement store. And for many, a home security store can be
just as distracting, as they drool and grunt over the hundreds of
accessories, gadgets, and options available to them. And today,
many home security stores are featuring so-called spy gadgets,
cameras and microphones that are typically no bigger than a dime.
Which means that if you have any type of budget that you need to
stick to, it's a good idea to make your list before heading out to
shop!
But suppose
you really don't have much of a budget or are shopping for
something for someone else - what are some really cool gadgets and
toys you can find at today's home security stores?
Those spy
gadgets are just the beginning. So-called bullet hole cameras need
just that to operate - an opening no larger that a bullet hole.
They can be placed virtually anywhere in the home or office and
connect to a VCR or DVR player to record their pictures. Many home
security stores offer a wide variety of such cameras and most are
only around $100. IP cameras are those that broadcast their video
to a website; these are great options for parents who want to watch
their children when they're at work or who need to keep an eye on
an elderly relative in the home. They may have no need to record
the video, just watch it when they can. Any home security store
that offers home surveillance cameras should have a wide variety of
IP cameras to choose from.
Home
automation is another popular option these days that can be found
at most home security stores. When wired throughout the entire
house, you can turn on and off the outside lights, adjust the
temperature, and even set the alarm without getting up. Or these
can be set to timers, so that your lights and thermostat can be
controlled without you even thinking about them. This is a great
option for those who travel a lot and may want to control their
home system while they're away. Most home security stores can
explain how to install and use such systems easily so that even the
novice can hook one up.
Whatever
type of gadget or accessory you're into when it comes to home
security and surveillance, you can no doubt find it at a reputable
home security store. There are many online as well that will let
you build your own home security system and will give you some
recommendations. Just be sure you exercise some restraint and stick
to your list so that you don't break your budget at the home
security store!
